A Holistic Approach to Pet Care

Holistic Medicine

Holistic Medicine

One of our veterinarians, Dr. Jane Morse, practices holistic medicine and wellness. She balances traditional medicine with acupuncture and herbal therapies. Dr. Morse describes this approach to health:

Holistic medicine looks at the underlying factors of an animal’s disease—genetics, the environment, nutrition, and the triggers that may be responsible for your pet’s present condition.

At Ballston Animal Hospital, my goal is to achieve the best outcome for your pet, given his or her unique circumstances. The modalities used are:

  • Nutrition—"we are what we eat" (or "we are what we don’t eliminate")
  • Western and Chinese herbs
  • Supplements
  • Acupuncture
  • Massage

Of course, conventional medicine is implemented along with these holistic treatment modalities in a way that is uniquely suited to your pet.

My approach is this: the integration of many forms of medicine, with the objective being the enhancement of your pet’s quality of life.
